January’s Flashback Athelte of the Month is awarded to legendary 49ers quarterback Steve Young. On January 29^th, 1995, Young was awarded the Super Bowl MVP after defeating the San Diego Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. Young threw for a Super Bowl record Six touchdown passes and earned his spot as January’s Flashback Athlete of the Month.
