2026 World Cup final to be held at MetLife Stadium

The 2026 World Cup final is going to be held at the MetLife Stadium of East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19, as announced by FIFA on Sunday. This tournament finale will span three different countries, and will witness more than 104 matches, as stated by FIFA and ABC News; it will be hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

The first match will reportedly be on June 11, 2026; at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico. A reported 48 nations are participating. Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Boston, and Philadelphia are the U.S. cities that will be holding matches. This world-renowned stadium is also said to be the first that will host three World Cups, as per ABC News.

This will mark the first men’s World Cup match for Canada as well, and their match is to premiere on June 12. The semifinals will premiere on July 14 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, followed by the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, as stated by ESPN. There are a total of 16 North American cities pertaining to Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. that are to host. MetLife Stadium also plans to remove 1,740 seats to broaden the field.
