There has been an ongoing feud between Biden and Trump since the 2020 presidential race. The tensions have only heightened since Trump’s loss and Biden’s win that year. With 2024 being the new election year, and the same two runners as 2020, it was inevitable for miscommunications between the two to occur.
These miscommunications turn into lies that spread everywhere. Many dangers, such as misjudgment and false impressions of people, can arise in these situations. Here are just some of the altercations between the two presidential candidates.
Following this year’s first presidential debate, Biden and Trump have had several miscommunications. One of the biggest being from Trump, falsely saying Biden is dropping out of the Presidential Race. Responding to Trump’s claims, the White House confirmed that Biden is “absolutely not” stepping down. In addition, they claim that he will not step down from his position as active president.
Donald Trump has also accused Biden of wanting “to raise your taxes by four times.” This is false information: Biden plans to prevent tax increases for those who make under $400,000.
While explaining his plans, Biden mentioned “It’s $15 for an insulin shot, as opposed to $400.” The real cost has been capped at $35 for most of the population through different health insurance plans and companies. Trump claims to be the one who lowered the price of insulin for the senior population, but again this is false. In 2022, Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, which reduced the cost of insulin to $35 for those with Medicare.
Trump isn’t the only one making false claims, with Biden falsely stating that the National Border Patrol Council had endorsed him. In reality, they are endorsing Trump, posting on X, “to be clear, we never have and never will endorse Biden.”
As the run for President continues, so will the miscommunications and lies. Let’s wait and see what is next to be said, and next to be misconstrued.
