Sony has dropped the final trailer for the third film in the Venom trilogy, titled “Venom: The Last Dance.” Tom Hardy is returning in his role of Eddie Brock and Venom as the duo go on their final adventure.
The trailer shows us that even more symbiotes are coming to Earth. They are running from the creator of the symbiotes, a character that has not yet been introduced. We get some hints throughout the trailer like one of the doctors saying, “This world can’t survive if you stay together”.
The plot seems to be that this “creator” needs Venom for an unknown reason, yet Venom wants to stay on Earth and with Eddie. There will be an internal controversy over what to do and what I imagine will be an emotional split up between the iconic duo.
Although this is the end for Eddie and Venom, I wouldn’t be surprised if they become relevant again down the line. Marvel Studios has already announced “Secret Wars” as one of their upcoming film, and in the comics, Venom is a massive player in this battle.
I feel as if the title is more referencing their last hurrah in the Sony Universe as Venom will likely appear with or without Eddie Brock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point soon.
Until then, Venom: The Last Dance will be released exclusively in theatres on October 25th.
