Journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, titled “War,” reveals new information about the Trump presidency as well as some of Joe Biden’s foreign affairs. The most notable piece of information to come from this is that President Trump allegedly sent a secret shipment of COVID test equipment to Putin during the pandemic. Despite this claim not being verified, many have commented on the matter.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that this is true. He also said that Russia sent supplies to the U.S. as well. That said, Peskov did not agree with everything Woodward wrote. In response to Woodward’s claim that Putin and Trump have spoken repeatedly over the phone Peskov said, “No, that’s not true,”.
During an interview with Jonathan Karl from ABC News, Trump said Woodward was, “a storyteller. A bad one. And he’s lost his marbles,” denying his claims.
Vice President Kamala Harris also spoke on the matter saying, “That is just the most recent stark example of who Donald Trump is – that he secretly sent COVID test kits for the personal use of Putin of Russia, an adversary to the United States.” She continued by saying that Trump wants to be a dictator and is easily manipulated by people with power like Vladimir Putin.
As we inch closer to the election, this information could be significant in influencing voters given the importance of foreign affairs in 2024.
