Within the world of competition, various boundaries and rules are there to keep things fair and to protect the competitors. Steroids and other enhancements have been banned from sports for years, yet it seems that they find athletes cheating with these substances all the time. What if these substances weren’t banned? What would it be like to see teams of people compete while being openly able to enhance their abilities? Those questions might be answered with the “Enhanced Games”.
Investors and sports representatives have begun pitching ideas about a special kind of Olympics that would allow all manner of steroids. The way they see it, these drugs have the potential to break world records and take sports to the next level. The potential for this type of Olympics does sound interesting, but there is still the concern of safety that has many people against the idea.
Health difficulties are a common occurrence when dealing with certain steroids, like heart disease, weight gain, insomnia, and many others. These side effects are something to be considered, but if the athletes are aware of the danger and fully consent to steroid use, then it would be on them and their team uses safe amounts.
Imagine certain stunts and feats that are possible if we think outside of human limits. It would be crazy to see what these enhancements are capable of, as long as it is regulated to some degree. It could become a whole new category of sports that is separate from normal games. It could alter sports as we know them.
