Fernando Cruz is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher. Cruz took his first big step in his professional career in 2007 when he was selected by The Kansas City Royals in the Major League Baseball draft as an infielder,.debuting under the rookie team Arizona League Royals. 

Cruz spent until 2012 with the team to which he signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs in 2014 and then the New Jersey Jackals in 2016. Two years later, Cruz signed with the the Mexican League team Pericos de Puebla for a single season, becoming a free agent afterward. 

Cruz took two seasons off and came back in 2021 on the Mexican League team Mariachis de Guadalajara. A year later Cruz joined the Cincinnati Reds where he made his MLB professional debut. Cruz spent two years with the team until being traded to the New York Yankees.
