Giorgio Armani is an influential Italian fashion designer and billionaire. Born in Piacenza, Italy, Armani began working in fashion following his two years serving in the miliary. First at the La Rinascente department store in Milan as a window dresser and clerk, then for the Finish textile company Marikekko. Armani continued to gain experience and gaiined his first big break while working at the Italian fashion house Cerruti 1881. 

Armani began designing menswear clothes after joining Nino Cerruti company and his success led him to freelance while remaining with Cerruti for much of the 1960s. Eventually, Armani would develop and debut his own style, presenting his first menswear collection for Spring and Summer of 1976 under a fashion label of his own name.

The label became known for its simple elegance that build up to late-20th century and early 21 century luxury clothing. Additionally, is widely credited with pioneering how fashion on the red-carpet exists today.

Armani has also designed outfits for many celebrities, music artists, actors and actresses. Lady Gaga has been one of his most frequent collaborators for many of her stage outfits.
