Some New York aficionados will remember when Jordan Clarkson made a cameo 3 years ago in the Instagram show, Sidetalk NYC’s 2nd Annual Water Balloon Fight. It was rather bizarre but pretty cool to see him have the time of his life.
And who would think that in July 2025, the Filipino American player would sign with the New York Knicks. After years of being signed to the Utah Jazz from 2019 – 2025, he decided to move his talents to the Big Apple.
Truth be told, Jordan Clarkson has been dreaming to play with star point guard, Jalen Brunson, for quite some time. On an appearance on “The Roommates Podcast”, hosted by Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Clarkson mentioned that the Madison Square Garden arena was filled with energy. He also admired the fans authenticity of not holding back their feelings depending on if you play good or bad that night.
Regardless, Knicks fans should be ecstatic of the 2021 NBA Sixth Man Of The Year’s production and talent. The most enticing aspect is his ability to score at will; he’s magnificent. Clarkson can create his own shot at a high level and can play at a high speed.
The Knicks need someone who can provide perimeter scoring. His last year with the Utah Jazz, he averaged 16 points, 4 assists, and 3 defensive rebounds. A commendable output for the combo guard, he can go at a fast pace. Another flaw that the Knicks needed to work on during their droughts in games last season, especially in the post-season.
Overall, the New York Knicks made a great decision buying him out of his Utah Jazz contract. Hopefully, he’ll gel well with the roster’s top tier gritty talent. Full of offensive engines (Jalen Brunson), sixth men (Josh Hart, Quentin McBride), defensive stoppers (OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges) and clean up in the paint (Mitchell Robinson). With the coaching of Mike Brown, the New York Knicks might make a deep run in the 2025-2026 postseason. It’s possible but we’ll see if Jordan Clarkson is the X-Factor the team needs.
From all the signs leading to this season, Jordan Clarkson is looking to be an excellent component to the squad.
