Flashback Athlete of the Month for November 2025
Carsten Charles Sabathia Jr. aka C.C. Dabathia is an American former professional baseball player. Born in Vallejo, California, Dabathia excelled in sports at a young age, playing baseball, football, and basketball in highschool. By the time of his graduation Sabathis received multiple sports scholarship but jumped right into the minor leagues after being selected by the The Cleveland Indians in the 1998 MLB draft.
Sabathia made his major league debut in 2001 as the youngest player in the MLB at the time. He played for the Cleveland Indians until 2008, when he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for only a year. The following year, Sabathia signed a $161 million seven-year contract with the New York Yankees, the largest contract at the time.
Sabathia continued his time with the Yankees until he officially announced his retirement in 2019. Since then, Sabathia has worked as a special assistant to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. Recently, he was announced as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 NYC Marathon.
