Alton Mason, born on November 21, 1997, is one of the highest paid African American male models in the world. Mason was born in Nebraska before moving to Europe due to his father’s career in professional basketball. He eventually moved back to the U.S. and lived in Arizona before moving to California to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy to pursue studies in both dancing and acting.

One of the significant moments in Mason’s early career was when he performed as a dancer at the BET Awards in 2015. He was picked up by IMG Models shortly after the show, and years later he walked during Milan Fashion Week. He became the first black male model to walk for Chanel in 2018 and even walked for Hugo Boss at New York Fashion Week.

Mason has also modeled for several high-end brands such as Versace, Fenty, Puma, Tom Ford, Valentino and many more. He has broken new barriers of success for not only male models but also black models around the world.

Mason has noted that popular and highly successful model Naomi Campbell has inspired him throughout his career.

He also debuted his music in 2020 with the song Gimme Gimme filmed in Lagos, Nigeria and starred in Rise in Light, a short film produced by Amarachi Nwosu and Soof Light. The video helped raise thousands of dollars in support of the Aga Khan Foundation. Mason’s efforts to strive and promote black excellence have made him a special figure and role model within the entertainment and modelling industry.
