Flashback Artist of the Month for January 2025
A Touch of Class (ATC) was a popular Eurodance group in the early 2000s. Formed in the late 1990s by Joseph Murray, Sarah Egglestone, Livio Salvi, and Tracey Elizabeth Packham. The ATC members came from countries across Europe and initially met as cast members for the German production of Cats the Musical.
They began working on their first single Around the World (La La La La La), alongside producers Alex Christensen and Thomas M. Stein in 1999. It was simplistic yet catchy, showcasing the group’s strength harmonizing male and female vocals. The song was released in April 2000 and hit number one in Germany, Austria, Poland, Romania, and Switzerland. It also peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 28.
ATC released their debut album Planet Pop a year later, which included Around The World as its lead single. Later that year, ATC released a moderately successful single I’m In Heaven (When You Kiss Me), Call on Me, and another single Set Me Free, in 2002 all through it didn’t manage to be as successful.
Unfortunately, the band never managed to keep up the success generated from their first album. ATC released their final album, Touch the Sky in 2003 to which the band disbanded soon after.
