BEN SHIRAI was born in Dallas, Texas where he studied film at the University of North Texas. The TV and film industry brought Ben to New York City in 2008 where he’s been working as a freelance photographer, working with actors, models, and musicians. Ben’s work has been published in multiple New York publications, including The Village Voice, Brooklyn Vegan, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. In addition to photography Ben also works in moving images having directed and shot music videos and short films. Ben Shirai’s short films have won awards for best director and best short at film festivals in New York and around the world.
