Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and why you want to add it to your beauty routine

Apple Cider Vinegar, also known as ACV. A product that has been around for centuries, but more recently is gaining popularity among those who have heard about its potential health and beauty benefits.

What is it? University Health Center by the University of Nebraska Medicine explains, “ACV is apple juice that has been fermented several times. Apples are crushed and mixed with yeast or another carbohydrate in the first round. Over time, natural bacteria ferment the juice, converting the alcohol into acetic acid. Once this process is finished, you have ACV in pasteurized and filtered form or raw, unfiltered form. The raw form has cloudy sediment made up of settled bacteria and yeast.”

While most would opt to use ACV in salad dressings, sauces, or marinades, others are claiming that it can be used for much more.

ACV typically contains vitamin C, folic acid, and biotin. It also has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, which can explain why people are noting its numerous other potential benefits. This includes:

● Encouraging hair growth
● Cleansing hair of build-up
● Relieve itching and dandruff
● Balancing the pH of your skin
● Exfoliation
● Improving acne

Apple Cider Vinegar claims to have health benefits as well. Some of them being losing weight, lowering cholesterol, boosting energy, relieving heartburn, and many others. Though there is little evidence to back up the claims, many believe ACV actually works for them and have incorporated it into their daily routine.

Health professionals advise those who use it to always dilute the ACV before use and to avoid contact altogether if you have a skin condition.
