Best 2025 Grammy Performances

Last night’s Grammy Awards were not short of talent. With 16 amazing performers, it’s hard to pick the top performances, but we at NYC Tastemakers have decided on five that have stayed with us long after the curtains closed.

#1 Doechii

Only the third woman to win best rap album, Doechii also deserves the first place award for best performance. The tear-away clothing, exciting choreography, and artistic freedom presented on stage during her performance shocked celebrities like Billie Eilish, who was filmed mouthing “Oh my god!” after Doechii’s performance, giving her a standing ovation.

#2 Sabrina Carpenter

It’s almost impossible that Sabrina Carpenter could top her performances on the Short n’ Sweet tour, but she did it anyway. The pop star incorporated comedic elements into her performance, pretending to mess up.

#3 Raye

Raye’s vocals were through the roof, and the English singer-songwriter did not disappoint with the timeless performance of her song “Oscar Winning Tears.” Though her performance wasn’t as choreographed and grand as, say, Sabrina Carpenter or Chappel Roan, her powerful voice filled the room and left fellow artists speechless.

#4 Chappel Roan

Chapell Roan never fails to blow us away. Her colorful performance, featuring dancers dressed as clowns and a giant pink pony for her song “Pink Pony Club,” amazed audiences. Roan received a standing ovation for her performance and won the best new artist award. This was surely a big night for Roan.

#5 Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars

Instead of performing their own song, Gaga and Mars paid tribute to the city of Los Angeles with a cover of “California Dreamin'” by the Mamas & the Papas. Their lovely performance left us in awe and evoked a great sense of respect for the two artists for choosing to pay tribute to Los Angeles instead of promoting their own music.
