Biden Diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer Which has Spread to his Bones

Former President Joe Biden’s personal office released a statement on Sunday confirming his diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer which has spread to his bones. After increasing urinary symptoms and a Gleason score of 9, the president was seen by a urologist who found a nodule on his prostate.

The symptoms indicate an aggressive form of the disease although it appears to be hormone sensitive, making it effectively treatable. Prostate cancer is common in older men and can be assigned a grade known as a Gleason score. The former president’s score of 9 indicates it is the most aggressive form.

This news doesn’t come as a surprise as the former president has been facing health concerns since his campaign in 2024. When asked, his aides would explain away all signs of decline even as they were discussing putting him in a wheelchair for a second term. Even so, Biden addressed comments about possible mental decline during his wife, Jill’s, appearance on The View, stating there is nothing to “sustain” that comment.

Despite this, people still speculate about the validity of his statements, questioning just how long the former president has been dealing with health issues. Despite previous criticism from the Trump administration, the president posted an acknowledgement of the former president’s health struggles on Truth Social, wishing him a “fast and successful recovery.”
