Flashback Artist of the Month for July 2025
Brian Douglas Wilson was an influential American musician, songwriter, singer and record producer. Born in Inglewood, California, Wilson began writing music at an early age. It wasn’t until after highschool where Wilson began a professional music career under the Beach Boys alongside his brothers.
During his time in the band Wilson became known for his music composition and eventually recognized as one of the most innovative and significant songwriters of the 20th century. He and The Beach Boys helped grandfather numerous modern music genres, including punk, indie rock, and emo.
Additionally, Wilson won two Grammy awards and was honored multiple other awards including Kennedy Center Honors Medal, and American Academy of Achievement Golden Plate Award.
