Brunson Leads Knicks to Tight Victory

In one of the most impressive games of the Knicks’ 2025 season, point guard Jalen Brunson rallied the team for an incredible come-back in the fourth quarter in their match against the Rockets at Madison Square Garden on Monday, February 4.

Things were looking bleak for the team after superstar OG Anunoby suffered another injury. At the top of the final quarter, the Knicks were down by 11, and with the Rockets firing threes past their defense, it looked like the team would face their second loss in a row. Amen Thompson was at the top of his game; nobody could stop him, nobody, except for Jalen Brunson.

Sometimes, the best defense is offense. Making up for the hole left by Anunoby’s departure, Brunson started rushing the attack. Following his lead, the team out-scored the Rockets 46-29, pushing the Knicks into the lead. With seven points in a row, Brunson pushed his team’s score to an impressive 118, but he didn’t stop there.

Cutting back to defense, Brunson stripped the ball from Thompson, regaining possession for the Knicks. He gunned it for the hoop but was fouled before he could sink another point. Luckily for Brunson, he scored both free throws, pushing the score to 120-116 with just seconds left on the clock.

“We know what we’re capable of,” Brunson said in a press conference after the game. “We put ourselves in those positions… We knew we were at fault, and obviously, they would not quit, so we had to step it up. Just having the confidence in each other knowing, knowing we’re not going to quit.”

The Knicks are set to play the Toronto Raptors later this evening. Anunoby’s injury has been described as a mild sprain, and the team considers it daily. Nobody from the team has yet to confirm whether he’ll be playing in the next game.
