Adam Richard Wiles aka Calvin Harris is a popular Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. Born in  Dumfries, Scotland, Harris developed a love for DJing in his teens. He quickly started making music and released his first two songs at age 18 in club singles and CD-EPs.

Shortly after, Harris moved to London to get to know its local music scene, releasing one single before returning to his home. Back in Dumfries, Harris began uploading his solo recordings to his Myspace page, these recordings helped boost his popularity on social media and garnered the eyes of the talent booker Mark Gillespie. Gillespie then signed Harris onto his own management firm, helping him release his first studio album I Created Disco in 2007. The album went gold in the UK and reached numbers eight and nineteen on the UK Albums Chart and US Top Electronic Albums charts respectively.

After that, Harris began collaborating with other artists and bands in pop and other genres including Kylie Minogue, Jamiroquai, Groove Armada, All Saints, and CSS, Dizzee Rascal.

Harris released his second album, Ready for the Weekend, two years later, which went gold in the UK as well. Harris continued gaining traction, releasing hits with collaborating artists that pushed his name further and further into the mainstream, with Blame, Outside, How Deep is Your Love being some of his biggest hits at the time.

Harris’s career has not faltered since then and with seven albums to his name and numerous global tours, he is one of the most influential producers and DJs in recent memory.
