Juan Camilo Sanchez, who performs under the name Camilo, is a popular DJ and NYCTM April 2026 Pick of the Month. He was raised in Queens, New York, and fell in love with music after being introduced to “the art of turntables” when he was 12. He released his first playlist, titled CAMILO Vol. 1, in the late 90s. Seeing success from the playlist, Camilo was encouraged to continue, releasing monthly playlists ever since. He quickly became popular in the NYC club scene before getting invited to join New York’s Hot 97’s DJ crew, The Heavy Hitters. Camilo also hosted his own show, Take it to the Streets. His shows focus on Latin Urban music and traditional American hip-hop. 

Camilo is also considered to be the International Club King due to the success of his club tours. He was awarded the National Club DJ of the Year award in 2017 and 2018 by the Global Spin Awards. He was also named the top East Coast DJ from 2013 to 2017.
