Photographer of the Month for April 2025
Born and raised in the vibrant neighborhoods of Queens, my Dominican roots and queer identity infuse my photography with a perspective that’s uniquely mine. For over ten years—nearly half my life at 25—I’ve been chasing light and stories through my lens, moving from self-taught enthusiast to recognized artist. When the Studio Museum in Harlem selected my work for their 2017 Expanding The Walls Program, it validated years of late nights and countless subway rides across the city with camera in hand.
My portraits aim to capture the raw essence of New York’s diverse communities, while my event photography has evolved from documenting underground scenes to glamorous red carpet moments at iconic venues like Cipriani. Each photograph is both technical craft and emotional storytelling—a balance I’ve been perfecting since I first picked up a camera as a teenager in Queens.
