Chappell Roan is a rising American singer-songwriter. Born in Missouri, Roan was discovered off of YouTube after uploading her first original song Die Young. Roan began her professional music career with her 2017 extended play School Night with Atlantic Records shortly thereafter. After releasing her 2020 single Pink Pony Club, Roan was dropped from Alantic Records and took a short break, returning in 2022 as an independent artist. 

 

While Roan saw limited success with the launch of her 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, going into 2024 the album began to gain some traction. Currently, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is one of the most successful albums of the summer thanks to multiple singles trending online.

 

Roan’s music style is akin to synth-pop and experimental music from the 1980s with artists like Kate Bush being one of her biggest inspirations.
