Chappell Roan’s Grammy Look Showcases The Artistic Extent Of Faux Tattoos

The Grammys red carpet has been a popular avenue for artists and those behind their wardrobes to showcase their unique style, personal or otherwise. It’s expected that what ever look is showcased will have an impact on social media an popculture through fashion and beauty trends and standards. Popular music artist Chappell Roan was one of the many at this year’s Grammys who had a standout look. While the artist is no stranger to showing off eye-catching style, this time around, her tattoos took center stage.

Roan’s attire was restrained; past awards appearances had the singer donning outfits that leaned heavily into the medieval glam or medieval weirdcore style. This year, her medieval weirdcore style regarding her dress and hair took a back seat. While revealing, her sheer maroon Mugler gown let her skin be the canvas for the jewelry and intricate faux tattoos on her front and back.

Her back tattoo took most of the attention. Designed by Andrew Dahling, in partnership with MAC Cosmetics, the back tattoo was made to resemble medieval woven art, with wolves and flowery imagery taking center stage. What garnered so much attention towards Roan’s look was how surprisingly intricate it was at a closer look, despite it being one of her most subtle looks at a glance.

Roan’s tattoos showcased exactly why faux tattoos can be great for occasions like these. Faux tattoos can be quick to put on and take off, and versatile for whatever outfit is needed at the moment or a person’s changing style. For special and formal events like the Grammys, faux tattoos are perfect for looks that need to last long and look good on camera.
