Clavicular Exposes The Mainstream To The Toxic Male Beauty Standards Of Looksmaxing

The online manosphere community has had an unfortunate amount of influence on a large portion of young men and boys in recent years. While the popularity took a significant dip in the past two years, it has recently re-entered the mainstream thanks to the influencer Clavicular.

Braden Peters, better known as Clavicular, is an influencer and streamer heavily associated with the manosphere space, primarily engaging with social circles within the Looksmaxing community. He is one of the many controversial streamers who exploded from the streaming platform Kick to more mainstream sites like TikTok.

Clavicular brands himself as a male beauty guru of sorts, coaching his viewers on the many ways of “ascending” to a more handsome version of themselves. However, it’s these coaching methods that have drawn Clavicular the ire of most outside of his audience.

The streamers’ coaching advice for many seems to be on the same level or at the extreme end of body checking, by advice and through example. Clavicular is known to obsessively document his own journey of optimizing his appearance through steroids, extensive surgeries, and bodily mutilation.

It is this obsessiveness around his appearance and his accounts of this leading towards various successes with women that expose his long history with the Incel community, which, alongside Looksmaxxing, props up male supremacy, far-right ideology, and denounces feminism.

While it would be quick and easy to just ignore influencers like Clavicular, his influence over a large swath of young men is nothing to be scoffed at. It is an exuberant symptom of a problem,  in a world where more and more listless and disgruntled young men are lonely, they find solace with these online influencers. It is in a similar vein to Andrew Tate, an infamous influencer with whom Clavicular is also friends. These people have shaped the minds of a large portion of young men and boys, and if that influence isn’t curbed, the societal repercussions will be felt when they grow older, and amongst the women in their lives.
