Christopher Andrés Álvarez García, also known as Cris MJ, is a Chilean rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born in La Serena, Chile, Garcia found an interest in music and the reggaeton genre at a young age. Garcia would begin developing his music skills by making songs and music videos on his iPhone and uploading them to DistroKid. His content consisted of original music and music covers until he focused on developing himself as an independent artist.

His professional career began in 2020 under the stage name Cris MJ, where he’d collaborate with artists in the Chilean music scene and release independent singles. A year later would see the release of his debut studio album, Mala Junta. Following that, 2022 would see his newly released single Una Noche en Medellín” (‘A Night In Medellín’) go viral on TikTok, breaking him into the international music scene.

Cris MJ would continue to collaborate, with his work appearing on multiple songs with other artists, including Gotay, Polimá Westcoast, Young Cister, Ak4:20, FloyyMenor, and Pailita. Garcia’s work has charted on multiple Billboard charts over the years including the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

As of 2025, Garcia is one of the most streamed Chilean artists on Spotify.
