DJ STEELO, born Unorl Angel Santiago in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and raised in Queens, NY, discovered his passion for music early on when handed a microphone and a radio with dual cassette players. This pivotal moment set him on a path destined for the DJ booth. At just 15 years old, in the summer of ’94, Steelo received his first pair of turntables and a mixer, swiftly transforming his basement into a hub for honing his mixing skills, dedicating endless hours to perfecting his craft.

By the age of 19, DJ Steelo had already graced numerous tri-state area nightclubs, including those across Long Island, New York, from ’97 to ’99. His breakthrough came in 2002 when he seized an opportunity to spin tracks at the iconic CHINA CLUB in midtown Manhattan under the wing of promoter Ruben Rube. Impressed by Steelo’s talent behind the turntables, the promoter swiftly recruited him as one of the club’s resident DJs, marking a three-year tenure of electrifying Saturday night performances.
