Doug E Fresh’s Harlem Brownstone Auctioned Off

This afternoon the Harlem Blackstone that Doug E Fresh lost to foreclosure will be auctioned off. The property is a four-level brownstone located at 251 W. 131st St. in Harlem.

The Brownstone has complex ownership, as Fresh’s mom, Arlene Davis, purchased the building under her name in 2007. In 2014, Davis passed away, and Fresh became the executor of her estate. Yet since Davis reportedly took out a loan from Deutsche Bank, they claim to have a stake in the property themselves. Two years ago, Fresh even claimed to be an active member of the military in an attempt to keep them from taking the property according to crainsnewyork.com.

This is not the only building in the block that Doug E. Fresh has been connected to. He also purchased number 265 in 2006 and then sold it in 2015. Plus he owned number 259 and used this building as his music studio. With these purchases came many issues including, foreclosure, lawsuits, and millions of dollars in unpaid mortgages.

Fresh will likely part ways with 251 at today’s auction which is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. in Manhattan Supreme Court on Centre Street.
