Drake’s parents pose together in Canada after 15 years of his father being denied entry

Rap star Drake, 37, posted a heartwarming photo of both his parents on his Instagram stories Monday with the caption “First time in over 15 years they let the OG back into Canada thank you to everyone that helped us out” to the side of the photo. It is reportedly uncertain why his father Dennis Graham, who was also a former musician, was denied access to Canada. Drake’s parents split when he was only 5 years old; this resulted in him being raised primarily by his mother. Drake is a known mama’s boy as he has written songs about her (Look What You’ve Done released 2011), and has quoted her in some of his songs (God’s Plan released 2018).

His parents reportedly met in a Toronto nightclub where Memphis-born Graham was performing in the 80’s. He remained close to his father though as Dennis would drive the young Drake from Toronto to Memphis every summer, as per People Magazine. Despite being separated, Drake’s mom and dad seem to be on good terms as Dennis decided to show some love for Drake’s mother Sandy on her 75th birthday saying: “Happy Birthday Pinky, we love you (red heart emoji)”. He posted this as a caption alongside a family portrait of her, him, Drake, and their grandson Adonis. Drake’s love and loyalty to his family despite his success is truly heartwarming.
