Fallout Show Teases Exciting Territory for Next Season

The Fallout series has been in the mainstream’s attention since the show was released on Amazon Prime. Old fans of the games now have new media to enjoy this post-apocalyptic world, and new fans get to experience it for the first time and will likely check out the video games that inspired the show. With the show being such a hit, there was no doubt that more was coming, but the ending of the first season implies that the next season will take place in a location that I didn’t expect to see again: New Vegas.

Fallout: New Vegas is the fourth main entry game in the franchise and is hands-down the most beloved by fans. The stellar writing of the game’s story and characters make it an enjoyable experience that people still talk about. Like all the games before and after, New Vegas provides the player the opportunity to decide between multiple endings for the main story, leaving no indication of what the “true” ending is.

The show takes place in the year 2296, which chronologically makes it the latest entry in the game’s timeline. This means that for the first time, we will get to see the canon outcome of the main story. As a fan of the show and games, I am thrilled to see this play out and discover what new stories will be told.

Of course, some fans are somewhat concerned about seeing Vegas again, as a “true” ending implies that the other choices were pointless in the grand scheme of things. That argument is valid, but the show has already implied the endings of other games, and it would be strange to leave Vegas out at this point. Besides, the show will be more interested in its own story and will likely not mention much about the game aside from some dialogue. Overall, I am excited to see how they will tackle the next season and how New Vegas will play into it!
