 Fired: Pam Bondi

In recent news, Pam Bondi, the former U.S. attorney general, was fired from her position last night, on April 2, 2026 by President Donald Trump. Bondi has reportedly been let go after performing her position for 14 months.  According to BBC News, “frustration had been growing with her leadership at the justice department”.  Additionally, the president continued to cite how her “handling of the Epstein files” has increasingly become a “reputational liability for the administration.”

Following the firing of Bondi, it is reported that Trump has named Todd Blanche as acting attorney general, according to the BBC. To include my own opinions on the matter, the decision to fire Bondi does not surprise me.  To cite the recent handling of the Epstein files, I can agree that they were grossly mishandled.  While I agree that the recent firing was necessary, I cannot express the same thoughts in the new position.

While not yet made aware, President Trump has reported that he intends to move Bondi to a “much-needed and important new job in the private sector“. Whatever that means.  And with this very vague answer, this leads me to think that the government has not yet decided how to continue moving forward with Bondi’s recent firing.

As this is a developing story, not much further information has been made aware to the public as of today on April 3, 2026.  As the days progress and the story continues to develop we will be sure to keep the public informed and aware of any recent development.
