Franz Lanting is one of the most influential photographers of the modern era. Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Lanting eventually immigrated to the United States later in life. 

 

Lanting grew in popularity thanks to him specializing in nature photography. Due to his skill, Lanting found himself traveling across continents documenting the many natural wonders and animals in his phenomenal work. His work can be found in many editorials around the world like the BBC, but most notably in National Geographic, as he is a prominent contribute towards that magazine.

 

In addition to his photography, Lanting is also a prominent speaker and writer for causes towards protecting the world’s wildlife.

 

Some of Lanting’s most notable achievements include winning the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award, Sweden’s Lennart Nilsson Award, World Press Photo Award for Nature, and more.
