Poems from Cassidy Paredes

HER STRENGTH

by

Her tear stained eyes, she hid so well. Embarrassed by her weakness, she was fearful, overwhelmed.

It was her flaw, perhaps her greatest— the emotion she carried,

Toting her burdens around like heavy stones… oh, she was so weary.

But then he showed her how her emotions weren’t a weakness at all.

Yes, she felt too much, but that only made her strong.

Her sensitivity made her know what was really valuable, including herself too.

He showed her she was stronger than she what she ever thought was true.

Her tears healed her wounds when nothing else would.

Embarrassed no more, she cried until she couldn’t.
