My name is Pink and I’m really glad to meet you—the opening line to one of PinkPantheress’s, now, most iconic songs to date. The song Illegal has spread like wildfire across TikTok, and many people have begun to recognize PinkPantheress as the pop genius that she is. Pink has become the newest artist to gain traction across social media. While it seems like Pink’s successes were inevitable, her talent went unnoticed for many years as her songs have always been a good tune to listen to.
One of the songs that made me fall in love with Pink was her popular song Pain released in June of 2021 under her debut mixtape titled To Hell With It. Other iconic songs like Break it Off, I Must Apologize, and Passion were also included on the mixtape and displayed PinkPantheress’s lyrical talent along with her soothing, sublime voice.
Many of Pink’s songs combine her soft voice with upbeat music to give listeners a rush of energy that bounces off of calm and relaxing vocals. The song I Must Apologize is a great example of how Pink intertwines these two elements to produce an ethereal sound and heavenly tune. The pace of the beat revives listeners who may fall into deep relaxation from the sound of her voice.
The only problem with her songs was that they were far too short. Many of her songs barely reached over the two minute mark as some fell just short of it. Many people complained that she had so much potential that had gone unnoticed because her songs simply were not long enough. It truly felt like her songs were meant to be catchy snippets rather than full-blown musical pieces—that is, until she finally took the leap of faith and posted songs that were close to three minutes long.
Songs like Tonight and Illegal show off PinkPantheress’s talent through longer and extended formats. PinkPantheress has also collaborated with other stars like JT, Nia Archives, Kylie Minogue. Her most notable collaboration was in her song Stateside where she featured Zara Larsson in the remix.
PinkPantheress’s appearance at the Grammys signifies her growth in the industry. Unlike many other artists, she produced and created a lot of her songs, especially the early ones, through her own efforts. She is continuing to shine in the world of pop, and her television and social media appearances have also helped increase her exposure and gain a mass following.
