A public feud broke out between President Donald Trump and his former ally, billionaire Elon Musk. Musk is adamantly against Trump’s massive tax and domestic policy bill, and he went all over Twitter and other social media to let everybody know.
On Tuesday, Musk called what Trump calls his “big, beautiful bill” as a “disgusting abomination.” This shocked many republican leaders who saw a strong alliance between Trump and Musk.
Later in the week, on Thursday, Musk went on social media to share years-old comments from Trump and other Republican lawmakers about US government spending and the deficit. Musk also said that Trump is in the infamous Epstein files, a collection of documents related to investigations into the activities of Jeffrey Epstein, a famously convicted sex offender.
At the Oval Office, Trump told reporters less than a week after he praised Musk, “Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” CNN reported.
It seems that Musk’s biggest concern is that the bill would increase the national debt to $2.5 trillion.
Musk has become so disappointed in the Republican party that he wants to create a whole new political party that represents the middle 80% of Americans.
Today, at 8:21 p.m. ET, Trump told CNN he is “not even thinking about” billionaire Elon Musk and won’t be speaking to him in the near future, “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem,” Trump told CNN’s Dana Bash.
