At around 8:50 a.m. this morning, a local policeman located skeletal remains near the Brooklyn Bridge. The skull and bones were found at 55 Water Street in Dumbo.
More officers are continuing to investigate the nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park as well as looking along the waterfront by Jane’s Carousel. As of now, the skeleton has yet to be identified, but medical examiners are working hard to confirm that it is indeed a human officially.
This shocking discovery comes less than 24 hours after a body was found floating in the water near Red Hook in Brooklyn this Sunday afternoon.
The Red Hook body is suspected to be a male in his 30s. The victim was dead on arrival, according to the EMS, yet the cause of death is still unknown. The man’s identity is awaiting confirmation from the family.
Both situations are still under investigation, and police have not announced whether they are led to believe that the two bodies could be somehow linked.
