“I Think You Should Leave” is Comedy Gold

Tim Robinson has been on everyone’s radar ever since the show I Think You Should Leave was released on Netflix. This show has made rounds all over the internet, with people posting memes of the many funny skits that the show is comprised of. Looking at the many jokes that each skit has, it’s no wonder why people love it.

The show is known for the style of humor it inputs into each of the episodes, with Tim usually playing a part in it. Escalation is an element used to perfection here, slowly transforming a seemingly mundane scenario into an over-the-top freak occurrence. This often takes form when a certain everyday saying or phrase is taken too seriously by one of the characters. One minute, a professor makes a small comment about how he wished he had his former student’s meal. The next, the professor eats it and tries blackmailing the others into not talking about it. This kind of escalation varies in many ways, but it is a constant source of laughter in every episode.

The show is also very quotable, which is what helps make it unforgettable. Tim’s delivery is always on point and is a huge reason why many of these quotes are memorable. The “sloppy steaks” skit will forever be stuck in my head for how seriously Tim describes this ridiculous backstory. It’s the kind of comedy that confuses you beyond logic, where the only reasonable way to react is to laugh.

I’m honestly glad that the show has gotten as much attention as it has. I highly recommend checking this show out if you haven’t already.
