The original iPhones took the world by storm and started what would be a tight-knit cult of Apple supporters with people buying all Apple products to create a close ecosystem of gadgets with the same operating systems. An Apple ecosystem is a force to be reckoned with, as it’s possible to do so much between an iPad, iPhone, Macbook and Apple Watch. Now, as Samsung has caught up and created its own gadgets that do similar things, Apple users are noticing that Apple is taking their time releasing features that non-Apple smartphone users already enjoy.
Clearly, this isn’t a big deal as many people are still die-hard Apple fans, but there are some defectors who realize that Android phones, Samsung in particular, tend to be cheaper with the same features. Not to say that Apple has no chance of regaining those supporters, but it doesn’t seem like Apple listens to its customers and even does things that customers actively dislike. Such has, removing the headphones that used to come with a new phone and more recently, removing charging blocks that plug into the wall. Not to mention, every time Apple has pushed the limits, it’s caused Apple users to readjust to using a phone that has been around for years. Namely, when Apple removed the home button and headphone jack. Particularly with the headphone jack, fans clocked it as a cash grab for Apple’s new AirPods, which of course come with their own host of issues.
The biggest of Apple having a cult following is that they’re allowed to try new things because they know people will always buy their product, but the benefit to the members of the cult need to be just as worthwhile or else Apple stands to lose all of their loyal supporters.
