Yesterday it was officially announced that Jennifer Lopez would be filing for divorce from Ben Affleck. This is now the second time the couple have broken up, the first time coming twenty years ago in early 2004 right before they were supposed to officially tie the knot.
The couple’s second time around started back in 2021 when both had very public breakups. Affleck breaking things off with actress Ana de Armas and J-Lo of course with MLB legend Alex Rodriguez.
The two rekindled things and pretty quickly began dating again. In April of 2022, Affleck proposed to Lopez for the second time in 18 years. The two had a “secret” wedding in July of 2022, and Lopez released photos of it on social media afterward.
After J-Lo’s filing became public on Tuesday, TMZ reported that there was no prenuptial agreement. TMZ has also said, “They have been trying to hash out a settlement for months, and our sources say those talks are continuing, but they have become increasingly acrimonious … to the point, at times, they’re not even speaking to each other.”
As of now, their house in Beverly Hills is for sale, with Affleck having already bought a new place in Brentwood. Lopez is still looking for a new place to live in the Beverly Hills area.
