Jaylen Brown Injured Before the Playoffs?

Yesterday was the last day for the NBA playoff seedings. A chaotic day where all the teams in the league battle at the final game of the regular season. The lower seeds were in the midst of that storm but the higher seeds were able to coast by resting their star players. One of those top seeds resides in the East – defending champions, the Boston Celtics. However, it appears that they potentially have a dilemma that could affect their playoff run.

Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown has had issues with right knee since February 9th. Unfortunately, it appears that the bone bruise has been causing him more pain recently. The Four Time All Star has been given pain killing injections to help him prepare for the playoffs. This shows that this injury isn’t season ending or questionable, as even Celtics Head coach believes that Brown will be 100% healthy for the playoffs.

Still, it is a concern to be wary of for a bunch of reasons. Brown is one of the best Two-Way players in the NBA. A cornerstone for the Boston Celtics, he has excelled on the offensive and defensive side- very capable of locking down star players. Him and Jayson Tatum are 1A/1B, both are equally great on those ends but one needs the other in order for them to succeed. A complementary dynamic that has proved to be effective – their deep, various playoff runs and 2024 championship season has shown.

An important leader and component of the Celtics, it is best that the organization can keep their eyes on Jaylen Brown if they want to succeed. Their first-round playoff matchup should be a breeze depending on whether the Atlanta Hawks or the Orlando Magic make it out of the Play-In Tournament from April 15th – April 18th. Yet, the Celtics must be mindful about his injuries for the future.
