John Dickerson, CBS Co-Anchor, is Set to Leave the Network

Today, John Dickerson, a long-standing member of CBS and co-anchor of the CBS Evening News, has announced that they are going to be leaving the CBS network. He has said he will be leaving the network at the end of the year.

In an Instagram post, John Dickerson had this to say regarding his decision to leave, “Local news: At the end of this year, I will leave CBS, sixteen years after I sat in as Face the Nation anchor for the first time,” he continues, “I am extremely grateful for all that CBS gave me— the work, the audience’s attention and the honor of being a part of the network’s history— and I am grateful for my dear colleagues who’ve made me a better journalist and a better human. I will miss you.”

From publicly available information, it is not initially obvious why John Dickerson has decided to leave the network. His messages on social media do not reveal the reason for his departure, and the CBS News president did not mention the reason either in his statement regarding John’s plans for leaving.

John Dickerson has had a very accomplished career as a reporter during his time with CBS. He has conducted interviews with some of the most famous people in the world, including sitting President Donald Trump, and has been the moderator for two presidential debates hosted by CBS.

John is one of the most prominent and accomplished reporters in the field, and it will be a major loss for CBS to lose one of its main faces for the network.
