Korn is a popular American nu metal band. Formed the early 90’s Bakersfield, California, by  James Shaffer, Reginald  Arvizu and David Silveria, the band began recording in Huntington Beach, California and touring the area. his led the band to be spotted by Immortal Records A&R employee due to their unique sound at the time. By 1993 Korn released Neidermayer’s Mind, a demo album freely to record companies and their gigs to spread interest.

Korn released their self titled debut album the next year, though it was their second album, Life Is Peachy, that would be the first to give them commercial success, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Korn’s third album, Follow The Leader, is considered a complete success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and introducing the band to the mainstream.

Over the years, Korn became one of the many bands that pioneered the Nu Metal genre, influencing other artists that came after them. Current;y, the band has over 14 studio albums and has sold over 40 million worldwide.
