Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, is an influential American singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in New York City, Gaga grew an interet for music at a young age, learning to play instruments like piano. Outside of music, Gaga participated in a variety of plays throughout her time in grade school.

Gaga has had additional musical education with the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for ten years. Once she graduated, Gaga enrolled in the Collaborative Arts Project 21 at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts until halfway through her second year. During her time at the school, she formed a band called SGBand, which did gigs around the club scene in New York. This led to her acquainting herself with music producer Rob Fusari. Fusari and Gaga had many triials and errors trying to break into the music industry, but they both persisted while Gaga began performing at neo-burlesque shows and other clubs. 

Eventually, she would strike up an apprenticeship with music executive Vincent Herbert who signed Gaga onto his label Streamline Records as a songwriter intern. There Gaga would gain experience writing songs for variousl popular artists and bands including r Britney Spears, New Kids on the Block, Fergie, and the Pussycat Dolls and more.

After years of hard work Gaga was able to release her first album, Fame, with the help of music producter RedOne. Fsme turned out to be an impressive hit, reaching the number one spot in many western countries including United States, Australia, UK, and having one of the worlds bestselling singles.

Multiple singles from Fame eventually became best-selling singles in their own right, and Gaga quickly became one of the most successful new artists in a generation. Gaga’s success only climbed with her second and third albums. Additionally, Gaga has toured across the world and collaborated with many popular artists including Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Tony Bennett, BLACKPINK, Christina Aguilera, and more. With over  170 million records sold worldwide, Lady Gaga is considered obe of the most popular music artists in the modern age.
