With the playoffs in full swing, it is apparent that everyone is on their A-game to take their team to the top. Unfortunately, the Lakers are already looking bleak after a massive mistake on their coach’s part nearly led them to elimination.
JJ Redick, the head coach of the team, tried a big gamble during the match with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards placed a ton of pressure on the Lakers with his performance in the first half of the game, so Redick decided to keep the same five guys for the rest of the second half. Redick had it in mind that they had a good chance of winning if the guys continued to play the same way throughout the second half.
The gamble did not turn out well for Redick. The Timberwolves caught up with the Lakers and managed to keep their three-point advantage in the last few seconds, leaving them to win the game. Although many would assume that the loss was due in part to the fatigue of the players, most of those players have come out to say that they were all ready to go and that they didn’t lose because of Redick. The coach was put in a bad spot and would have pulled the guys out if they said they needed to be. Even so, many blame the coach for not subbing the players.
The Lakers are not in a good position right now, but they still have the chance to turn things around. Hopefully, the coach and the team can pull it together and prove that they won’t go down without a fight.
