Laurel Charleston is a New York City-based makeup artist. Her art style can be described as futuristic, creative, and surreal. They manage to create looks that are both bizarre and beautiful. Charleston has credited her inspiration to both nature and fine art.

Her makeup looks are not meant to compliment an outfit or look but rather to build on it, embodying and becoming the looks itself. Charleston practices many of their looks on herself, experimenting with everything from full faces of makeup to entire body art. Their style is a mixture of futurism and abstract art, utilizing bold colors and unique patterns (usually organic in nature versus geometric).

In addition to herself, Charleston has also done looks for some more well-known clients, including L’Oreal, Steve Madden, Ralph Lauren, POLO, Farfetch, and most recently (and perhaps notably), Doja Cat. In fact, Laurel Charleston was the mastermind behind all of the unique makeup looks spotted by Doja Cat during last year’s September fashion month.
