MadeGood Company Announces Granola Recall Due to Possible Metal Contamination

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a voluntary recall of granola products from the company behind the MadeGood brand, Riverside Natural Foods Inc. According to the press release, the granola recall was due to finding traces of metal within their various granola products.

Riverside Natural Foods is a family-owned company with the mission of providing tasty and healthy snacks that are ethically produced and good for the environment. The company brands include MadeGood, GoodTo Go, and Cookie Pal, which have markets in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

In a statement on the brand website, Riverside Natural Foods Inc. noted that the recall was specifically for products made between January 2024 and November 2024, and that there have been no injury reports.
“We are voluntarily recalling certain MadeGood granola bars as a precautionary measure due to a potential safety hazard. There is a very small risk that some of our granola bar products made between January and November 2024 may contain a piece of metal,” read the statement.

“We have addressed the source of the issue and are conducting the voluntary recall with the knowledge of regulatory authorities. There have been no reports of injury; we’re initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution and commitment to the well-being of our valued customers,” it continued.

MadeGood granola products that have been recalled include Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, Mixed Berry Granola Bars, Strawberry Granola Bars, Cookies & Crème Granola Bars, Chocolate Banana Granola Bars, Chocolate Drizzled Birthday Cake Granola Bars, Chocolate Drizzled Cookie Crumble Granola Bars, and Chocolate Drizzled Vanilla Granola Bars.

Consumers are encouraged to return the products listed above to the store where they were bought to be refunded. For more information on the recall and the list of affected products, customers are urged to visit the MadeGood website.
