Global cosmetics brand Maybelline New York announced Shay Mitchell as its new global brand ambassador late Wednesday evening.
“A champion of self-expression and a true creative powerhouse, Mitchell will bring her unapologetic self to Maybelline New York as she begins her global ambassador role,” said Maybelline in the press release.
Born in Ontario, Canada, Shay Mitchell is a well-known Canadian actress and entrepreneur. Prior to acting, Mitchell got her start in modeling as a teen. Eventually, after scoring a minor role in Degrassi: The Next Generation, Mitchell found her big break as Emily Fields in the popular teen mystery series Pretty Little Liars.
Since then, Mitchell has had roles in Punk’d, Glee, Bravo’s Project Runway, Netflix’s You, Hulu’s Dollface, and as the host of her travel show, THIRST with Shay Mitchell. Additionally, Mitchell also works as an executive producer on the drama series The Cleaning Lady.
Outside of acting, Mitchell is the founder of BÉIS, a travel and lifestyle essentials brand, and the co-founder of Onda, a tequila and reposado brand.
Mitchell released a statement alongside the announcement, expressing her excitement to join the Maybelline family.

Maybelline New York Global Brand President Trisha Ayyagari shared her excitement about Mitchell’s inclusion as a brand ambassador.

Mitchell will officially join Maybelline this fall and participate in multiple upcoming brand and product campaigns. More information on Mitchell’s future involvement with Maybelline will be shared in the weeks leading up to this fall.
