Mexican Navy Ship Crashes into Brooklyn Bridge

The famous Brooklyn Bridge in New York found itself amid a huge accident last Saturday when a large navy ship collided with the structure, resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries inside the vessel. The world got to see the result of this tragedy with many videos and pictures displaying the wrecked ship.

The Mexican ship Cuauhtémoc, which was on a tour, stopped by the Big Apple to refuel for the long journey ahead. However, for reasons still unknown at this time, the ship began sailing in the opposite direction of where it needed to go, resulting in the ship crashing into the bridge. The masts were the biggest cause of commotion, falling on the ship and knocking down lights and debris. Many shipmates found themselves in the wake of the incident and were left with varying degrees of injury.

Fortunately, the bridge received minimal damage and was eventually reopened for use. There have been no reported injuries outside of the ship’s crewmates. Theories of what caused the accident are still unconfirmed, with the leading one being that a mechanical failure must have occurred. The captain told the authorities that he had lost control of the ship. Investigations are still being conducted to determine the cause and what should be done to prevent future accidents.

Eric Adams, New York’s Mayor, made note of the two people who passed away during a press conference. Many people on social media have commented on this event and sent out prayers to the victims’ families.
