Jordon was born to Michael A. Jordan and Donna Jordan on February 9, 1987.  One of three children, Jordan came from a humble beginning in his early life, citing how he and his family were extremely poor and often struggled financially for most of his early life.  

Acting was not an end goal dream for Jordan when he was younger.  Essentially stumbling into the profession, Jordan actually booked his first role as a child model for different brands such as Toys “R” Us and Modell’s Sporting Goods after a receptionist suggested it to Jordan’s mother in a doctor’s office.  Beginning at the age of 10 and continuing until he turned 12, Jordan continued his modeling career before pivoting into acting in 1999 at the age of 12.

Ending his short modeling career, Jordan first began to book roles, such as Cosby (1984) and The Sopranos (1999).  Really appearing in small television roles, Jordan soon achieved his very first noteworthy role when he appeared in The Wire (2002) as Wallace on HBO.  Receiving praise and recognition for his portrayal of the character, Jordan quickly began to book bigger roles on television, like All My Children (2003) and Friday Night Lights (2009).

Gaining more success and recognition on the small screen, it was only a matter of time before Jordan achieved his first role on the big screen.  Booking a big role in the film, Fruitvale Station, Jordan graced the movie screen in the critically acclaimed film that established him as a leading man for more movies to come, like the Oscar-winning film, Sinners!

But besides his stellar accomplishments, Jordan remains the same and grateful person he was even before his Oscar status.  Giving much praise and honor to the people who supported him, Jordan credited his success to his mother, citing how “pretty cool” his win was.  He then continued to express his deep appreciation for his mother, stating how the love and support of his mother were essential and vital to his career.
