Michigan, Kentucky, Connecticut, and Georgia Capitols evacuated amid bomb threats

Multiple state Capitols in the South and Midwest regions of the United States have been evacuated amid bomb threats; these states include Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia, Connecticut, Mississippi, and Montana. The threats were received Wednesday morning causing multiple state capitols to conduct lockdowns and evacuations of their premises as police investigated. No dangerous items were found, and warnings turned up after a large number of incorrect reports of gunfire involving the homes of public officials surfaced recently.

“We are aware of similar threats sent to government agencies across the country”, stated Michigan State Police spokesperson Lori Dougovito. Shortly after the evacuations police investigated and thoroughly searched the buildings in which thankfully nothing worrisome was discovered.

“The building was thoroughly searched, and no explosives or suspicious equipment were found, There is no further threat to the Capitol or surrounding buildings”, stated spokesperson Bailey Martin.

Once the searches ended most capitols allowed their employees to reenter the building.

Connecticut State Capitol Police reportedly encountered numerous complaints from employees stating that they had received a questionable email that was also sent to other state capitols stating that “multiple explosives” are situated in the capitol. All buildings have resumed regular operations, as per Forbes Magazine.
