MNF Predictions for Jets @ 49ers

Last year for the premiere of Monday Night Football Aaron Rodgers took the field as a Jet for the first time. And as we know that was short-lived as Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles just four plays into the game. 364 days later, the Jets play yet another Monday Night Football game with Rodgers finally under center again. This time the Jets will take on the defending NFC Champion San Fransisco 49ers in the Bay.

This being Rodgers’ first game in a year, the Jets will look to ease him back into things. I expect a lot of dink and dunk passes allowing New York’s playmakers to make a play in the open field. I also foresee a lot of rush attempts from Jets star RB Breece Hall as well as their rookie back Braelon Allen. San Fransisco also has a pretty good running back that you may have heard of, Christian McCaffrey. He too is a master at making plays off of screen passes and should have a lot of those opportunities tonight.

On the defensive side of things, both units for the Jets and Niners are some of the best units the NFL has to offer. The game is going to be low-scoring and come down to which of these QBs can make a big play in the fourth quarter. If you ask me, even at 40 years old it’s Aaron Rodgers. I think the Jets win a close game that comes down to the final drive.

Final Score Prediction: Jets-23 49ers-20

Kickoff is tonight at 8:15 EST on ESPN
